Empty Your Cache!

Clear Your History

Don't Live In the Past, Live In the Present!

Cache.  Pronounced “Cash”.  In computer technology it is a “secret folder” where the computer’s history is stored.  Everywhere you have gone and everything you have done on your computer is stored in your “cache.”  One of the interesting things I have come across recently in a conversation I had with a one of our help desk techies is that some people have been having a problem with a certain program, and the solution is to “clear their cache!”  In other words, in order for that computer to function properly, they need to get rid of that secret record of all the places they have been, stored on their computer in some secret place, because something is in there that is affecting the effective and positive operation of their computer.  In some cases it has actually crippled their entire computer.

Did you “cache”  that?  (I know, “Catch,” sorry!  I know, very poor!)  But seriously, how many times do we let our past failures and misdeeds affect our present usefulness to God in negative ways?  How many of us have been crippled by dwelling in our past?  God certainly does not live there.  Why should we?  God told us He would “clear our cache!”  Look:

“I, I am he who blots out your transgressions [clears our cache] for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” (Isaiah 43:25)

“….but in love you have delivered my life from the pit of destruction, for you have cast all my sins behind your back [cleared our cache].  (Isaiah 38:17)

“He will again have compassion on us;  he will tread our iniquities underfoot.  You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea [clear our cache].” (Micah 7:19)

“as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us [clear our cache].”  (Psalm 103:12)

Let’s get on with life!  God has stuff for us to do!

Case Closed!  CACHE CLEARED!!

And when you try to dig that cache back up, may God give you that gentle reminder that he left us with in Psalm 103:10 –

“He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities.”

If God doesn’t do dwell on it, why should we?  Let me close with the words of 1 Peter 2:16:

“Live as Free men!”

About Rick Mauderer

I am a recovering public school administrator who has an addiction to crunching data and running statistical analyses on that data, and making informed decisions based upon those analyses. I do the same thing with God's Word. I comb it to discover the heart of God - the love of God expressed in the pages of that book. Then, I allow that love to transform my life, and then seek to touch the lives of others with it. God's Word is truly Powerful! When I find myself in a sticky situation, and my experience seems to contradict God's Word, I will always stick with God's Word, because my situation will end, but Jesus Himself said "God's Word lasts forever." It changes lives. In fact, "that's what God do!" He changes lives. He started changing mine 30 years ago, and by His grace I have beaten the odds and statistics of children raised in abusive, alcoholic homes, and other life-besetting circumstances. Those things do not define my life. God does. I will always do my best to believe God's report, not the world's. As I let Him have total control, I allow Him to continue to change my life - for the good. Join me on the journey! Be blessed this day with all the love and peace God has in store for you!
